Joel has over 51 years experience working with large and small businesses. Joel is past president and CEO of J & J Shoes, Inc.,
a 14 unit footwear chain operating in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. He has traveled for 18 years throughout the south as a marketing representative and consultant to small and large retailers and manufacturers, planning, creating and implementing marketing plans and strategy's for growth. From 1996 to 2002 Joel served as Senior Business Development Specialist for Kilgore College/SBA Small Business Development Center, where he served as the primary business counselor and trainer. During a short stint in retirement, which he quickly discovered was not a good plan for the rest of his life, he opened an office in Longview, Texas, which he proudly calls home for the past 44 years, and formed Joel Johnson & Associates. Over time he has formed partnering agreements with several attorneys in different areas of law, CPA's with various specialties, and business brokers with extensive expertise in the buy side and sell side.
